Priestley College celebrates Europe Day 2025

To celebrate Europe Day, our Junior Ambassadors took part in a variety of engaging and educational activities at college but also via their Instagram page. The activities were designed to deepen students’ understanding of Europe as well as promote, celebrate and educate other students in the college about the EU and its values.

Debate

On Thursday 8th May 2025 Junior Ambassadors lead a lively debate in A level Spanish class on the question “Should the UK still compete in European events? This activity helped them develop their critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills.

Lunch time quiz

On Thursday 8th May 2025 Junior Ambassadors created and organised a lunchtime fun quiz activity in the common room. They advertised the event in the Junior Ambassador Instagram. They invited their friends to come along and try the quiz. There were European biscuits to be won. A fun and interactive quiz tested students’ knowledge of European flags, languages, and culture.

Information board

The board was updated with information about EU The trailblazers who helped build today’s Europe.

European Online Quiz Participation

2 students also joined a Europe-wide online quiz, allowing them to connect with peers from other schools across the continent. This gave them a sense of shared European identity and encouraged intercultural exchange.

Overall, the celebration was a success, combining learning with active participation and fostering a deeper appreciation of European unity and diversity.
